We were scheduled to have a Spinning Smorgasbord, but that plan has been downgraded to a Spinning Combo Plate. We will try to enlist a few people to still give demos - perhaps a hand spindle with silk fiber, and a spindle wheel or charka with cotton. But.... the main program will now be a Giant Show & Share. We've done this as the program in September in the past, so this will just continue that tradition. Please bring the things you've created this summer, the items you entered in the San Diego County Fair, and/or things from classes you have taken or conferences you have attended recently.

Most important of all - please remember that the deadline to sign up for the Kati Reeder Meek linen workshops is the end of August! So far, we've only got 4 people signed up for the weaving workshop, and 3 for the spinning workshop.

It would be a darned shame to have to cancel - she is well-known in the fiber world and an excellent teacher and this is a great opportunity to improve both your skills and your bodily comfort with weaving and spinning. If you were thinking about it, but forgot, or just haven't yet send your check, please send it to Taryl ASAP! (Weaving workshop is Oct 11 & 12 - Thursday & Friday, and is $93. Weaving Classes at UCSD Crafts Center Guild members Rebecca Smith and Christie Dunning offer a program of weaving classes at the UCSD Crafts Center for beginning and continuing weavers. Registration for the Winter Session begins on January 8. Classes begin the week of January 16.
